In the wind
Leaves are falling.
They are near to each other
Yet they are separate.
The brisk wind softly caresses their shapes.
They twist and turn
Fighting to stay afloat.
It's as if they watch each other
Silently watching each other on their journey
Toward the ground.
They are connected by spirit,
but the space between them
Keeps them from ever touching.
They are bound to follow each other until they complete their purpose.
Without warning, one begins to fall
It has lost it's motivation
The life that was underneath it's wings is gone
It has come to a crashing end.
The other sees the cracked body
It falters
The wind is gone
It is falling faster than ever
Following the leaf before
Until it comes to a chaotic rest next to it's love.
